Job Description

As the Vice President of Infinia Software Engineering for DDN Storage, you will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of world-class Data Platform that powers our industry-leading AI and high-performance storage solutions. You will drive the technical vision and strategy for DDN Storage's data platform efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize software that enable customers to unlock the full potential of their end-to-end and data-intensive workflows. As a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in file system technologies, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of data management and ensuring that DDN Storage remains at the forefront of innovation in this critical area.

Key Responsibilities:

    Define and execute the technical roadmap for DDN Storage's Infinia software development efforts, ensuring alignment with the company's overall product strategy and market opportunities. Collaborate with product management, sales, and marketing teams to identify and prioritize development opportunities, and develop compelling value propositions and technical solutions that address customer needs and drive business growth.
  • Lead a highly skilled team of software engineers and architects in the design, development, and delivery of advanced file system technologies that meet the performance, scalability, and reliability requirements of the most demanding AI and high-performance computing workloads.
  • Drive the continuous improvement and optimization of DDN Storage's Infinia Platform and the development and implementation of new features, performance enhancements, and architectural innovations.
  • Establish and maintain deep technical partnerships with key industry players in the file system ecosystem, including open-source communities, standards bodies, and technology vendors, to ensure that DDN Storage's solutions are well-aligned with the latest industry trends and customer requirements.
  • Drive the development and implementation of best practices and methodologies for file system software engineering, including Agile development processes, automated testing and deployment, and continuous integration and delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams involved in the end-to-end file system software lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to development, testing, and post-release maintenance and support.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the file system and storage industries, and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in DDN Storage's file system offerings.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering leadership roles, with a proven track record of delivering high-performance, scalable, and reliable file system software solutions that meet the needs of demanding enterprise and high-performance computing customers.
  • Deep technical expertise in file system technologies, including parallel and distributed file systems, storage protocols and APIs, and data management and protection techniques.
  • Proven ability to lead and scale high-performing software engineering teams, with a focus on mentoring, coaching, and driving a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and drive creative solutions that deliver business value.
  • Strong experience in developing and executing technical strategies and roadmaps, with a deep understanding of industry trends and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.

Interview Process:

After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 30-minute interview ("phone interview") during which a member of our team will ask some basic questions. If you clear the initial phone interview, you will enter the main process, which consists of four technical interviews:

  • Coding assessment in a language of your choice.
  • Systems design: Translate high-level requirements into a scalable, fault-tolerant service.
  • Systems hands-on: Demonstrate practical skills in a live problem-solving session.
  • Project deep-dive: Present your past exceptional work to a small audience.
  • Meet and greet with the wider team.
  • Our goal is to finish the main process within one week.
  • We don't rely on recruiters for assessments.
  • Every application is reviewed by a member of our technical team.
